The Project is still in its development stages and is not a functioning facility but - The Concept A fully accessible holiday centre, with residential accomodation, catering and with facilities for indoor and outdoor activities. While focussing on people with disabilities, their families and carers, it will be run on the principle of integration and will be open to anyone. The centre will be not only a venue for visitors to the island, but will be a facility which can be used by the local community. It will have an hotel ambience rather than that of a hostel. Impact on the Island A major increase in recreation and health-promoting facilities available to the community in general, and people with disabilities and their families/carers in particular. Economic benefits through employment opportunities, servicing the centre, visitor-spend. The centre would add significantly to the efforts to increase awareness of the island and, in particular, the promotion of it as a venue for activity holidays.
