To build stronger, healthier and safer communities using a holistic approach that supports lifelong learing skills, education and training to young volunteers with the aim of empowering the volunteers with the confidence and life skills to move up and on to better things. Role Description: This is a great project which will provides a number of benefits to both the local community and volunteers. Currently clients and volunteers are involved in the refurbishment of a not-for-profit organic café, helping to create a community garden, plus 2.5 acres of community allotment space and learning DIy designing skills whilst helping to transform a single decker bus into a mobile workshop. The (pink) bus will support young social enterprise in rurally deprived areas particularly focusing on disenfranchised individuals and young sigle mothers who for a spectrum of disadvantaging reasons fail to gain equal access to mainstream services. Skills Required: 3L's A willingness to Look, Learn and Listen and a level of commitment to making good things happen on an individual and shared community basis. Development Opportunities: You will gain knowledge and understanding in a variety of areas such as Personal Development, Organic Food Preparation, Organic Gardening, Basic Mechanic and DIY skills. Young Individuals also have access to grounded support and a holistic opportunity to develop self confidence in an non combative environment, aiding acceptance of growing pains and taking responsibility for our tomorrows. Partnership organisations include Project Scotland, Triage Central, Careers Scotland and the Criminal Justice Service. Training is provided by Elmwood and Adam Smith Colleges from our social resource centre at 96 High Street Burntisland. If you think we can help you or your group......please just holler.
