Coach My Sport
Coach My Sport is a social enterprise on a mission to change lives through sport and education.
Tony Phillips, founder of Coach My Sport, is passionate about sports coaching. He started his social enterprise in 2017 to ensure all young people across the Forth Valley have the opportunity to engage with sport. He believes that sport can change lives, by building confidence, improving health and well-being, promoting positive engagement and providing employment opportunities.
Coach My Sport provides training for young people age 16 to 24 in sports coaching qualifications and mentoring, as well as a coaching programme for children age 3 to 11.
We spoke to Tony in July 2020 about his journey starting his social enterprise and how he adapted his service as a result of Covid-19.
Since we last caught up with Tony, he has purchased a mobile sports arena. It is central to his new project, ‘On The Road’, which involves Coach My Sport taking sport to communities. The mobile sports arena allows Tony and his team to engage with children in areas of deprivation, who do not have access to sporting facilities.
With the easing of restrictions, Coach My Sport was able to restart running indoor classes from the end of April. Keep up to date with their news on the Coach My Sport website, Facebook, or Twitter.
