Chris Hellawell – Board Member
Found & Director of Edinburgh Tool Library, Board Member of FirstImpact.
Chris Hellawell is the Founder and Director of The Edinburgh Tool Library, a community tool lending library that became the first of it’s kind in 2015 and has now expanded to include multiple sites, and two community workshops. Chris’ has previous experience working in the third sector for a variety of charities across Scotland, but decided to explore the idea of a tool library when he saw the benefit of similar organisations across North America.
He is particularly driven by the vision of a Scotland that shares resources, minimising it’s carbon footprint while maximising the opportunities for people to access the things they need. When Chris isn’t in the tool library, he can be found yomping in the woods with his family, or grumbling about Newcastle United.
