Lauren Scott – Investment Manager
Lauren assesses applications for repayable finance including for The Catalyst Fund.
Lauren joined Firstport in January 2024. She originally qualified as a solicitor and spent almost 20 years providing legal advice to clients, latterly specialising in advising social enterprises, charities and representative bodies on matters of corporate, commercial and charity law.
Lauren also spent time on secondment to the legal team at the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, sat on the Law Society of Scotland’s Charity Law Sub-Committee, and has been a trustee of Foundation Scotland, The Melting Pot and Social Firms Scotland. She joined Firstport from NCM Fund Services, where she headed up the team which provides depositary services to UK alternative investment funds. Lauren has a particular interest in social investment, which included being involved in the creation of one of the first social investment tax relief funds.
